Artificial sweeteners are permitted in some countries may be different from the rules and regulations that apply in other countries. As cyclamate permitted its use in Indonesia apparently has been banned by the Food and Drug Organization in the United States because of its safety is doubtful.

Although its use is permitted, it is still consumption of artificial sweeteners should be limited because the study of artificial sweetener consumption in the long term has not been done. In the supermarket we often see drinks are labeled sugar free. But you do not be fooled by the sugar-free label, because these drinks taste still sweet on the tongue and a bitter taste will follow. This is characteristic of drinks that use artificial sweeteners. Artificial sweeteners, is recommended only for people with diabetes consumed. Meanwhile, people who do not have diabetes is generally best to eat sugar with a limited number. In addition to low and even zero-calorie, artificial sweeteners do not contribute to the destruction of the teeth, not as a natural sweetener.

If some artificial sweeteners such as Stevia and Xylitol have been proven safe use, corn syrup was recommended to be reduced.

Although low-calorie artificial sweetener, its consumption should also be balanced with a natural sweetener that is considered more secure.

  • Honey
  • Maple Syrup
  • Sugar Maple
  • Agave Nectar

Once again the key word to suppress blood sugar levels is the amount of sweetener use. Amount of use it must be considered primarily a natural sweetener instead of sugar for about the same calories as sugar. Always look behind the label of food or beverage packaging to ensure the total calories contained in food.
